Barbara is a single mom raising Hailey on her own; the statistics are not on their side. Most children born into poverty remain in poverty throughout their life times, but you are helping them beat the odds. Barbara has been in the Mission's Bridges to Success program. In this program she has taken Job Skills Classes, Financial Literacy, and attended our mentoring program. In the mentoring program volunteers worked with Barbara to set and meet her goals.
Barbara just completed her associates degree from Mitchell Community College and transferred to UNC Charlotte and is half way through her Junior year.
She can add another achievement to her long list of wins; she just got a full time job as an inventory manager. The job pays well and will give Hailey and Barbara the financial stability they need.
